Mission
The mission of the Academy of Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition is to provide an easily accessible and affordable platform for innovative scientists and treatment providers to share cutting edge, research-based and clinically tested information about how diet and carefully targeted nutrient therapy can transform recovery and save lives.
What Makes Them so Unique?
Many psychotherapists, psychiatrists and addiction counselors are aware of the vital role diet and nutrient imbalances play in addiction withdrawal and cravings, and other mental health symptoms, but don’t have the skills or confidence to effectively approach these issues with their clients.
To meet this need, The Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition was created. It started out as a course through The Alliance for Addiction Solutions and evolved into its own Academy. The Academy is offering two online programs for the public. The purpose of these programs are to thoroughly train mental health and addiction counselors in these skills. Graduates will be able to identify which client symptoms are due to biochemical imbalances, and to either empower their clients with the tools necessary to effectively address their own imbalances using diet changes and over-the-counter supplements; or make the appropriate referral.
