Holistic Mental Health

December 2015

Thermographic Diagnostic Imaging Newsletter December 2015

This newsletter focuses Holistic Mental Health and anxiety and depression. Holistic mental health may indeed include your basic talk therapy, but it also looks beyond that and connects with other alternative mental health therapies like diet, nutrition, and changes in lifestyle to achieve optimal psychological functioning. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit and utilizes methods outside the realm of conventional psychotherapy.

Unlike traditional psychiatry, instead of medicating the brain with toxic drugs, it attempts to find the underlying cause of the psychological symptom that is exhibited. Read this newsletter…

Portion Distortion

November 2015

Newsletter-November-2015

During the holiday season, I do my best to keep things simple and I try to maintain a level of balance in my life, sticking to my healthy diet and lifestyle routines and not overindulging in food, drink or shopping. Our November newsletter offers some great tips to help you avoid “Holiday Burnout”.

Portion Distortion: Food and drink portions have increased dramatically since the 1980’s. Even recipes list larger serving sizes than ever before. In the 1960’s version of The Joy Of Cooking, a brownie recipe served 30- now the exact same recipe serves only 16!

The allure of a “better value” has sucked us into buying large quantities of huge portions on a regular basis. The effect on waistlines everywhere has been catastrophic. Most people encounter over sized portions every day. Read this newsletter…

Getting to Know Your Inner Goddess

October 2015

Getting to Know Your Inner Goddess by Michelle Castro

In ancient Greece, there were many specially chosen Goddesses that were worshiped and revered for their beauty and boldness. To name a few- Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Demeter and Persephone- each with a domain to oversee. Goddesses reigned over relationships.

In the 21st century, the idea of a Goddess is becoming more universally accepted, with the added benefit that every woman has the right to be a Goddess in her own world.

A modern-day Goddess knows that she is part of God/Source/All that is. She is comfortable with her “I Am.” She has successfully integrated yin and yang, feminine and masculine energies. She embodies strength, sex appeal, and intelligence. Read this newsletter…

Healthy Home Detox

September 2015

The benefits of eating clean, nutritious, whole foods are clear; the fewer toxins, chemicals and junk you feed your body, the more vibrant a life you’ll lead. While the phrase “you are what you eat” stands true, the state of your environment can also impact your health.

Many of us have done a detox in order to eliminate internal toxins from our body, but how many of us do anything about the toxins in our own homes? Common household and body-care products are increasingly being found to have negative health effects on the nervous and immune systems, on our reproductive systems and on our endocrine, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Summertime and Mindful Eating

August 2015

Is there anything more delightful to the senses than biting into a juicy, ripe Jersey peach, the fuzzy feel of the skin, the enticing smell of the nectar, the sweet and slightly tart flavor dancing on your taste buds? Or the buttery sweetness of an ear of corn when you bite into it and you can taste the sunshine in the kernels?

So often we eat mindlessly. We stuff food into our mouths while working on the computer, watching TV, or when we’re on the run. The pleasure of eating lies in slowing down and fully experiencing all of the elements of food. Take some time to explore each of the following during your next meal and notice the difference. The main thing is to have fun, learn something, and understand yourself better. Read this newsletter…

Two Inspiring Conferences

July 2015

Newsletter July 2015

My husband and I had the good fortune to attend two amazing conferences last month. The first one was the Agape “Revelations” conference in Los Angeles and more recently the “Celebrate Your Life” conference in Chicago. Both of the events were “off the chain”, full of laughter, love, spirituality, connectedness, singing and dancing.

We heard absolutely wonderful, inspirational speakers, got our books signed by the authors and got lots of pictures taken with them. The Agape Revelations theme was “Listen and Unlearn” and in Chicago the theme was to “Celebrate Your Life”. The message being, live your life now, not some time in the future. Don’t put your life on the lay-away plan, live here, now!! Read this newsletter…

June is National Fruit and Vegetable Month!

June 2015

Throughout history, people have eaten food essentially as nature produced it. People ate whole and unprocessed vegetables, fruits, grains and beans and chicken, fish and other animals foods. Small amounts of sugar and honey or wine in the diet were balanced by regular physical activity, from sunrise to sunset, for every member of the family.

What would happen if you experienced high-level wellness most of the time?  Imagine what your life would be like if strength, flexibility, endurance and clear thinking were part of your everyday life. Read this newsletter…

10 Weight Loss Tips

May 2015

“It’s about finding what works best for you, then creating your own nutrition theory based on your individual desires and needs. Find what’s right for you. This task is far more challenging than getting swept away by the latest media-hyped fad and jumping on the already-rolling bandwagon. In the end, however, it will be far more rewarding because you will have come to understand your own nutritional needs and you will arrive at a place of lasting health and physical well-being.” (Joshua Rosenthal)

The surest way not to lose weight is to become fixated on your scale. Step away from the scale! Read this newsletter…

The Benefits of Exercise

April 2015

Many people lose sight of the ultimate purpose of exercise, which is to improve overall health and fitness. They become lost in the mindless patterns of the gym and habitually grind out set after set in strainful workouts. Without exercise, it’s hard to reach your full physical and mental potential and achieve overall well-being. Read this newsletter…
